THE 2025 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL – THANK YOU!

THANK YOU to everyone who has generously responded to the needs of our regional Church by supporting the 2025 Annual Catholic Appeal!  We greatly appreciate that we have exceeded our Archdiocesan goal of $197,500 by over 136%. Additionally, more than 260 parish families have participated with gifts and pledges. Your contributions to the Annual Catholic Appeal help our parish and the archdiocese carry on the ministries and mission of the Catholic Church in Western Washington. If you are still considering making a gift, please click here. Any additional donations will help support our parish project with the replacement of the roof of the original parish offices along 14th Street.

November Meals for the Homeless - Thank you!

This November, we will continue our Sacred Heart community tradition of generously providing nightly meals throughout the month to those in need who are part of the rotating men’s shelter at First Congregational Church in Bellevue.

Once again, we will be using SignUp Genius for those wanting to sign up to supply a food item (main dish, side dish or dessert). Visit here to sign- up.

Please make your food delivery to First Congregational Church located at 11061 NE 2nd St, Bellevue, between 6:15 - 6:30 PM. Thank you for the generosity and compassion in helping these men in their path from homelessness to stable living.

Weekly Lessons on the Sacred Liturgy

Behold the Lamb

Following the Responsorial Psalm is another brief silence. Then, on Sundays and high feasts, we have the Second Reading. This reading from the New Testament (apart from the Gospels) is usually independent from the First Reading and the Gospel but gives us some insight into our current celebration or to Christian life. As we listen to the apostles and evangelists teach the early Church in their liturgical gatherings, we recognize that we are descendants of their faith. What they taught about Christian life still applies to us today, often in very practical ways. We are then encouraged to “imitate their faith” (Heb 13:7), witnessing not only to our own generation, but for generations to come.
