Sacred Heart Community Outreach Committee

The Community Outreach Committee is grounded in our baptismal call and invites all parishioners to discover and share the gifts God has given them, especially with those who are less fortunate.

Their mission is to educate the members of the Sacred Heart Parish Community to act justly by sharing their time, talents, and treasures.  We provide opportunities for service and coordinate social initiatives undertaken by the Sacred Heart Community.

They fulfill this vision by collaborating with the following organizations:

  • In September, we partner with Congregations for Kids to collect backpacks and school supplies for children in Bellevue from families with limited or minimal income.
  • In November, we work with Porchlight to provide evening meals for homeless men.
  • At Christmas our Advent Giving Tree supports eight different organizations.
  • We offer pregnancy and parenting support through Prepares.
  • We support Jubilee Reach, which assists Bellevue area school children and families in need through the Groceries for Families Program.
  • We collaborate with Sophia’s Way, which serves homeless women on the Eastside.
  • We engage with St. Francis Mission; our sister school located on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota.
