Stewardship of Treasure 2026

Keep Our Mission Strong - Every Day

Stewardship of Treasure involves reflecting on our financial resources and making a decision to give a portion of what we have received for the work of the parish, the archdiocese and other charities.  We are asked to give from our abundance, in the biblical sense to make a sacrificial gift from the “first fruits of our labor” rather than from what is left over after our needs are met.  Such a gift is an act of faith that can strengthen our understanding that God provides for all our needs.

Why is this important?

Like many faith communities, we experience seasonal shifts in giving—especially in the summer months when travel and changing routines take many away. Yet, the Church’s mission never pauses. Our doors remain open, our ministries continue, and our call to serve is constant.

Your recurring gift ensures that:

  • The Holy Eucharist remains at the center of our worship, uplifting hearts through reverent liturgies, sacred music, and prayerful gatherings.
  • We can answer Christ’s call to serve the least among us through outreach programs, pastoral care, and social justice efforts.
  • Faith formation and spiritual renewal continue to flourish, providing retreats, sacramental preparation, and enrichment for people of all ages.
  • We can be prepared for unexpected challenges, ensuring that financial uncertainties do not hinder our ability to serve.
  • Parish operations remain strong, covering essential monthly church expenses—including monthly utilities, staff and musician salaries, faith formation programs, and ongoing maintenance—enabling us to remain focused on ministry.

Ways to Give

Annual Catholic Appeal 2026

The theme of the Annual Catholic Appeal this year is “Together in faith.” This theme is fitting as we remember that the work we do as Catholics and as a community of all the baptized is not done alone. Our regional ministries help us support our mission to encounter Christ and live out the joy of the Gospel, and that is only possible through the help of the Annual Catholic Appeal.

This year, our parish’s goal is $165,630. Any gifts exceeding this goal will be returned to Sacred Heart as a rebate for our parish projects. The first $55,000 of the ACA rebate will be used to welcome a FOCUS Parish Missionary to Sacred Heart, starting in the summer of 2027. Through small groups, Bible studies and prayer gatherings, this missionary will help us deepen our faith and strengthen our sense of community. Any additional rebate funds will contribute to the project to replace the roof of the original parish offices along 14th Street.

Parish Stewardship of Treasure, Annual Catholic Appeal... What’s the Difference?

The Parish Stewardship of Treasure Commitment Renewal funds the day-to-day operations of Sacred Heart.  These operations include staff compensation, subsidizing Sacred Heart School, sacramental programs, liturgical ministries, faith formation programs, as well as repairs and maintenance for all campus buildings and utilities.  This commitment renewal occurs annually, with pledges covering the period from January to December. All donations are processed through the parish.

The Archdiocesan Annual Catholic Appeal provides essential operating support for important ministries, offices, and programs throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle.  Pledges for the Annual Catholic Appeal are made from May to April, and all donations are processed through the Archdiocese of Seattle.
