Reconciliation

Night sky with city and cross

"It is in pardoning that we are pardoned."

-Prayer of St. Francis

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation, also known as Confession or Penance, offers God's unconditional forgiveness. This Sacrament calls us to forgive others and to avoid sin in the future. Catholics are encouraged to turn to Reconciliation throughout their lives for strength and guidance.  Not only does the Sacrament of Penance free us from our sins, but it also challenges us to extend the same compassion and forgiveness to those who sin against us.  We are liberated to become forgivers.

Reconciliation Schedule

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on Wednesdays from 8:15 to 8:45 am and Saturdays from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

Additional Reconciliation times are offered seasonally and as needed.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation helps us remember that we cannot live without God.  There are four steps in the Sacrament of Reconciliation:

WE FEEL CONTRITION FOR OUR SINS AND A CONVERSION OF HEART TO CHANGE OUR WAYS.

WE CONFESS OUR SINS AND HUMAN SINFULNESS TO A PRIEST.

WE RECEIVE AND ACCEPT FORGIVENESS (ABSOLUTION) AND ARE ABSOLVED OF OUR SINS.

WE CELEBRATE GOD’S EVERLASTING LOVE FOR US AND COMMIT TO LIVE OUT A CHRISTIAN LIFE.
